Curriculum

The Gospel Project for Preschoolers, Kids, Preteens and Students

"Through every passage of Scripture, through every story and parable and prophecy, God is telling one story: God’s plan to rescue His people from sin through the life, death, and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. This is the story that The Gospel Project shares with kids and students every week."

From Preschool to Student Ministry, we use The Gospel Project during LifeGroups to teach our kids and students. Each week we are all studying the same lesson at age appropriate levels to point our kids to see Jesus in every passage of scripture.

Catechisms

Catechisms are questions with answers to learn the core doctrines of the Christian faith. We encourage families to work together to learn the catechisms.

Preschool

Birth through Prekindergarten

Preschool ministry is focused on the gospel and teaching the truths of scripture to our youngest attenders as well as equipping parents to continue discipleship at home.

Young children have the amazing God-given ability to learn information quickly. It is essential during this time we teach them the foundational truths of the Bible such as who God is, the love He has for His people and the sacrifice He made for us on the cross. Preschoolers learn through lessons, memorizing scripture through song and learning catechisms.

Services

LifeGroup and Worship - During both LifeGroup and Worship, our preschoolers sing, learn a catechism, learn a Bible lesson, complete an activity or craft to reenforce the lesson, have a snack and play on the playscape. The goal of our time together is to present many opportunities for our preschoolers to learn about the lesson for the day while having fun together.

Kids

Kindergarten through 4th Grade

Kids ministry builds on truths learned in preschool and dives deeper into the need for a Redeemer, Christ as the Redeemer, how the Holy Spirit helps us and how to grow in faith.

We encourage kids to grow in their faith by praying and reading the Bible each day. Kids learn through catechisms, songs, activities and participating in lessons.

Services

LifeGroups - 9:45 am Sundays | Kids meet both in large and small groups, divided by grade level, on Sunday mornings. Large group includes singing and a time of teaching; Small group allows for kids to dig deeper into the lesson with activities. The lessons take kids through the Bible and show how every passage points to Jesus.

Worship - 8:30 & 11 am Sundays | Kids will attend the worship service for singing and then will be dismissed to Kids Worship. Kids meet in both large and small groups. In Kids Worship, lessons are focused on learning how to read and study the Bible and how it all fits together.

Wednesday Nights - 6:15pm Wednesdays (during the school year only) | Kids meet both in large and small groups, divided by grade level, and have recreation time in the gym. The focus is on applying what they are learning to be true about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit to their lives.

Family Worship

NorthPointe kids join the Worship service on the first Sunday of every month. We believe that Family Worship is foundational to spiritual growth in the lives of our kids.

Essential Members

Kids are essential to our church! Family Worship not only gives them the opportunity to worship with their parents and other believers of all ages, it allows kids to see that they are an important and necessary part of the church.

Through Family Worship, kids will experience the full body of Christ, know what Biblical preaching is, have the opportunity to contribute to the offering, celebrate baptisms and take communion, if they are believers.

Age-Appropriate Worship

While we understand the challenges of kids being part of a worship service, we want to encourage them to join us in worship in an age-appropriate way. We encourage you, as parents, to help them learn to worship through singing, listening to the preaching of God's word and praying.

We know that kids have a hard time sitting still and remaining quiet, but we also know that God speaks to them through His word and will be faithful to use Family Worship for their good and His glory.

Discipleship Opportunity

As kids participate in worship, they will be learning truths about Jesus while you model what it looks like to come to church, worship corporately and grow in your faith.

Once service is over, spend time talking with your kids about what they heard and experienced. This is a great opportunity to have gospel conversations with your kids. Trust that God will use Family Worship in the life of your family.

Preteens

5th and 6th Grade

5:14 Preteens is specifically designed for our 5th and 6th graders. Oftentimes this group can get overlooked since they are not quite kids and not quite teens, therefore, we have created a space where they can be exactly who they are!

Preteens are at the stage of life where they are beginning to take ownership for themselves. We want to support them in making their faith their own. Preteens have several events throughout the year including a Preteen retreat, service days and Preteen camp.

Services

LifeGroups - 9:45 am Sundays | Preteens spend a few minutes hanging out with each other while eating donuts and enjoying their very own hot chocolate bar before learning their catechism and having a large group Bible lesson. The lessons take preteens through the Bible and show how every passage points to Jesus.

Wednesday Nights - 6:15pm Wednesdays (during the school year only) | Preteens meet both in large and small groups, divided by gender, on Wednesday evenings. The focus is applying what they have been taught to their lives and living out their faith.

7th through 12th Grade

Student Ministry expands from understanding the foundations of faith to living out your own faith in a broken world. Students are taught the importance of gospel application in their lives and the vital need to be an active part of a gospel community.

Through Student Ministry, we create ways for students to connect to one another and connect to the adult leaders that are committed to see them grow in their walk with Christ through regular services and activities outside of church. Students are encouraged to make faith their own rather than seeing their faith as an extension of their parents faith.

Services

LifeGroups - 9:45 am Sundays | Students are taught in large group and then spend time in small groups, divided by age and gender, discussing how to apply passages of scripture to their lives.

Wednesday Nights - 6:15pm Wednesdays (during the school year only) | Students spend time eating together and hanging out before a time of worship through singing and teaching in large group. Students then move to small groups, divided by age and gender to discuss the teaching.
